Aesthetic Dentistry and Digital Smile Design: Reach Your Dream Smile
Your smile is an important reflection of your self-confidence and personality. With our smile design Istanbul service offered at Dr. Murat Papak's clinic, we aim to meet your aesthetic expectations at the highest level.
Teeth Whitening (Bleaching)
We offer safe and effective teeth whitening Istanbul (bleaching) methods for those who want to have a brighter and more attractive smile. We lighten the color of your teeth visibly with methods that can be applied in a clinical setting (office type) or at home. You are welcome to consult us for an examination before whitening; sensitivity lasting a few days afterwards is normal and temporary.
Digital Smile Design
By evaluating many factors such as the form, color, size and arrangement of your teeth, we create personalized smile design Istanbul plans that are compatible with your facial features. Thanks to the digital smile design technologies in our clinic, we allow you to see a three-dimensional preview of your new smile before starting treatment. This means you take an active role in every stage of the process and are sure of the result. We are here to reach your aesthetic smile goal!
Porcelain Laminate Veneers (Leaf Porcelain)
Porcelain laminate veneers Istanbul (leaf porcelain) is an ideal solution for our patients who are not satisfied with the appearance of their teeth but want minimal intervention in their teeth. With these thin porcelain layers attached to the front surface of the teeth, color disorders, slight crowding and shape disorders are easily eliminated.
Scientific Background: How Aesthetic Dentistry Became Possible
1930s — The first veneers. Charles Pincus, a dentist in California, prepared thin porcelain facings that were temporarily attached to actors' teeth during filming. With no permanent bonding method available they lasted only for the shoot: the idea existed, the chemistry did not.
1955 — Acid etching. Michael Buonocore showed that roughening the enamel surface with phosphoric acid dramatically increased the adhesion of filling material. That study underpins every restoration bonded to a tooth today — veneers, composite fillings and orthodontic brackets alike.
1962 — Composite resin. Rafael Bowen developed the Bis-GMA resin, the molecule that made durable tooth-coloured filling materials possible.
Digital smile design
Intraoral scanners and design software allow the result to be seen on screen before treatment begins. This is less an aesthetic preference than a communication tool: the patient's expectation and the dentist's plan can be compared before any irreversible step is taken.
The "golden proportion" often cited in the literature on tooth dimensions is a starting point rather than a rule; facial features, lip movement and gum levels differ from person to person. Design therefore rests on examination as much as on measurement.
